Advanced Millwork is a proud recipient of the 2008 & 2009 Associated Builders & Contractors Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction
2009 - The Boca Beach Club-The Waldorf Astoria Collection, Wood & Plastics, Interiors: $1 - $5 million
Advanced Millwork, Inc. was chosen by IDC Construction because of its award winning portfolio and dedication to excellence. The architectural millwork called for throughout this five star resort required a uniqe and challenging approach for both production and installation. A special design and development meeting was held in London, England by the owners for the general contractor and AMI to discuss the design scope and alternative ideas prior to the start of production.
AMI fully understood the Boca Beach Club would become part of the Waldorf-Astoria collection, demanding exceptional quality to meet their clients exacting taste. The project scope involved a large part of the hotels common areas including the main lobby, guest reception area, main bar, pool bar, ballroom, men's and ladies facilities along with locker rooms and fitness facility.
The visual impact of the finished interiors exceeded the customer's expectations and added a unique aesthetic quality and grandeur continuing to establish the Boca Beach Club as one of the premier resorts in south Florida.
2008 - Westin Imagine Orlando, Wood & Plastics, Interiors: Under $1 million
The Westin Imagine Orlando is a 12-story, 315 room luxury hotel/condominium featuring one and two bedroom suites built by Ledcor-Hardin Construction Company and is in walking distance to the Orange County Convention Center and International Drive. It was constructed as one of the center pieces to the Village of Imagine project.
Advanced Millwork, Inc. (AMI) was chosen by Ledcor-Hardin to produce and install the unique and challenging architectural millwork throughout the facility.
Westin, as AMI fully understood, demanded exceptional quality in a timely manner. The project scope involved the majority of the hotels living space such as the main lobby & guest reception area, guest rooms, meeting rooms, business center, elevator cabs, men's and ladies facilities along with locker rooms and corridors.
339 beautifully crafted vanity sinks with zodiac countertops were produced and installed to compliment every guest room. Some pieces that may not stand out at first glance, but require no less attention to detail, would be the base boards, door casings and valances installed throughout the main guest areas and guest rooms as well as the chair rail molding in the hotels corridors.
Due to the challenging nature of this project, AMI was one of the few architectural millwork companies in the region that were capable of taking on a project of this scope due to the complex requirements of the main lobby’s columns. These one-of-a-kind structures required the fabrication of a new CNC router head to produce the fluted columns and an innovative vacuum press process used by AMI to adhere the veneer to the column forms.
A total of eight fluted columns were required, ranging in size from 10 to 17 feet in height and encompassing 1,300 sq. ft. of material. These columns are complimented by the surrounding architectural millwork showcased by the guest services and reception desks on either side. The visual impact of the main lobby exceeded the customer’s expectations and adds a unique aesthetic quality and grandeur establishing The Westin Imagine Orlando as one of the premier hotels in the central Florida region.
